Removal of woolly nightshade is mandatory. Woolly nightshade grows very quickly and birds disperse the seeds. It is not yet widespread but this area is a hot spot for it. Woolly nightshade is capable of establishing from seed in native plantings and before they establish a canopy so it is one to watch after planting is completed.
Control: Drill a series of ten mm holes in the trunk and fill with glyphosate herbicide, ringbark and paint herbicide on the cuts or cut down and remove the whole tree. If the dead tree is to be left standing, remove the lower branches to allow access to the other weeds.
