Coastal Cliffs
Coastal cliffs consist of exposed rock with minimal soil cover, giving good
drainage, poor soil moisture and low nutrients.
The climate is exposed to sea
winds and salt spray but little chance of frost. Because of frequent disturbance
plants in this environment are typically intolerant of shade.
Plants are listed
in order of tolerance of the extremes of this environment from the most exposed
to the most sheltered.
This environment type adjoins Coastal Forest
